Pastoral Welcome

The Bible says, "the kingdom of God can be likened to a seed of mustard, which is the smallest of all the arable seeds, but when it is planted is the greatest among herbs" (Mathew 13: 31-32). The story of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (Strongtower Parish) Leeds, can be said to be similar to that. On the 1st of January 2006, the parish started with 2 adults and three children. By the first service on the 8th of January 2006, we had 10 adult and 5 children! In Luke 20: 17-18, the Bible states that, "the stone the builders have rejected has now become the corner stone". From that little beginning, even without starting first with a House Fellowship - as it is the norm - the parish has been growing, even to our amazement.

We started out meetings at Swarthsmore Education Centre on the 8th of January 2006, and on 12th March 2006, with much faith and dependence on God, without considering our strength and finance; we took a bold step and rented an ultra-modern facility with the VUE CINEMA (The Light Shopping Mall - Headrow), at the very heart of the City.

On 13th August 2010 through the special grace of God, we took another giant stride. We signed the contract to buy a 2 plot property less than 500 yards from the City Centre. The property can accommodate about 500 people at once. The Church has since grown in the last four years to an average attendance of 250 people and at time over 300 people gather together to celebrate life in God's presence.

We totally rely on the power of God through the name of Jesus, the undiluted word of God as preached by Jesus and His Apostles and inspiration from the Holy Spirit. God always gives us a theme every month, to which He has been faithful confirming these themes in the lives of His people. Are you in the Yorkshire region?
