Resurrection can be defined as the act or fact of bringing someone back to life, or bringing something back into use or existence: the act of rising from the dead; the rising of Christ after His death and burial; the rising of the dead on judgement day; the state of those risen from the dead; or a rising again, as from decay, disuse, etc.; revival.
Power in this context can be defined as the ability or capacity to do something or act in a particular way; a natural skill or an ability to do something.
The Resurrection Power is the supernatural, life-giving power of God that raised Jesus Christ from the dead, now available to believers to transform their lives, overcome sin, and translate spiritual death to life.
It is not merely a future hope for believers, but also a present, daily reality for us overcoming challenges, renewing strength, and living in victory.
The Resurrection Power refers to the Divine power which is a central tenet of the Christian faith. This power is not only a historical event but also a present day reality that believers can experience in their spiritual lives.
It signifies victory over sin and death, offering hope and assurance of eternal life.
The concept of the resurrection power is rooted in the New Testament, particularly in the accounts of Jesus' resurrection and the teachings of the apostles. The Apostle Paul emphasises this power in his letters, highlighting its transformative impact on believers.
The Resurrection Power is foundational to Christian theology, affirming the deity of Christ and the truth of the Gospel. It validates Jesus' victory over death, providing a foretaste of the future resurrection of all believers. This power is not merely an abstract concept but is accessible to Christians through the Holy Spirit, who empowers believers to overcome sin and live victoriously.
Believers are called to live in the reality of resurrection power, which involves a daily surrender to the Holy Spirit and a commitment to spiritual growth.
This power enables Christians to face trials with hope, resist temptation, and bear witness to the transformative work of Christ in their lives. It also assures them of their identity in Christ and their future resurrection.
The early church was profoundly shaped by the belief in resurrection power, which fuelled the spread of Christianity despite fierce persecution. The apostles' bold proclamation of the risen Christ and their willingness to suffer martyrdom were rooted in their conviction of this power's reality and efficacy.
It was the Resurrection Power that transformed men like Peter and John who were ordinary and ignorant men to become bold and intelligent evangelists (Acts 4:13).
It was the Resurrection Power that transformed a man like Saul of Tarsus who was an ardent prosecutor of the gospel to become the chief most of the apostles of Jesus Christ (Gal. 1: 13-15).
It was the Resurrection Power that made men like John the Beloved difficult to get killed, such that he was able to fulfil the length of his life on earth (John 1: 9).
It was the Resurrection Power that turned men like Philip who was chosen to serve table, to become great miracles workers (Acts 8:1-5).
The Lord is assuring us of His undeniable resurrection power in this season.
The Lord will grant us supernatural power to overcome any challenge facing us, renew our strength and help us to live in victory (2 Cor. 4:16).
The Lord will grant us supernatural power to subdue flesh, abstain from sin, cancel untimely death, shut the mouth of the grave, and discomfit the hosts of hell that have gathered against us.
The Lord will help us to experience total dominion and authority over powers and principalities waging wars against us.
The Lord will enable us to face any trial with hope of victory, resist any temptation, and live a life that bears true witness to the transformative power of Jesus Christ.
The Lord will grant us peace that surpasses all understanding in this season. He will grant us wholeness, prosperity and gladness.
The Lord will rekindle our hope of eternal life in Christ Jesus. While we still live on earth, He will quicken our mortal bodies; refresh our souls, strengthen our spirit man. He will give us a better future and bless us beyond our expectations.
May the Almighty God perform these and make other resurrection blessings to be evident in our lives and in our midst in Jesus mighty name.
